Since there are so many cosmetics company out there, it may be tough to choose a product. This may be made more complicated by the fact that many manufacturers are also intent on promoting a slew of moisturizers and anti-aging creams and lotions. Actually, to add more confusion, some products by French cosmetics companies may have some unfamiliar terminologies. We believe Anthelios SX moisturizer, by La Roche-Posay, may reinforce that trend.
La Roche-Posay is a French cosmetics manufacturer that does not explain what it means by the term SX; however, we infer that the product is probably named after the key ingredient, Mexoryl™ SX. Furthermore, the cosmetics company promotes a number of other skincare products. Nevertheless, to its credit, Anthelios SX is marketed through an official and exclusive website. Therefore, we will take a look at Anthelios SX and analyze its potential strengths and weaknesses to conclude if there may be better products out there.

The official Anthelios SX website does not list the complete ingredients at this time. Instead it merely highlights three key ingredients: Octocrylene, Mexoryl™ XS and Parson 1789. The official La Roche-Posay website also does not list the ingredients as of review, but adds another ingredient: Glycerin, which is a common moisturizing agent found in many skin creams. We will look at the ingredients in detail below.

Octocrylene is said to protect against harmful UVB rays. As such, we welcome the ingredient. In fact, the moisturizer contains SPF 15, which may be a plus. Similarly, Parsol 1789 is also said to be an agent that protects skin against UVA rays. Interestingly, the other active ingredient disclosed, Mexoryl™ XS, is also said to be a “sun filter that fills the gap in sun protection.” Thus, we are left wondering if this moisturizer may be suitable for those looking to buy a topical cream for wrinkle reduction.
We are usually wary of a manufacturer that dabbles in producing numerous anti-aging products, as opposed to formulating one effective cream or serum. We believe such practice may demonstrate their lack of confidence in their products. In any case, we would have liked the moisturizer far more if it included Collagen or Sodium Hyaluronate.

We like the fact that Anthelios SX has its own official and exclusive website. The manufacturer also has a separate official website, which we regard as a plus. The Anthelios SX website, however, does not have buying features at time of review, and directs buying queries to the parent website. Furthermore, a complete list of ingredients is also not disclosed. As of this review, there are no testimonials or before and after pictures posted online as well. All in all, we find the website may be more valuable if it had more detailed descriptions.

However, as mentioned above, when it comes to reducing the visible signs of aging, we believe that there may already be other proven and trustworthy products.
Therefore, those looking for a specific anti-aging cream and not an SPF 15 moisturizer may wish to find a manufacturer that does not dabble in producing numerous skin creams. Many women may do well by exploring as much as they are able to about the ingredients before taking any formula. Nowadays, scientifically advanced ingredients, like Argireline®, and others, like Collagen and Sodium Hyaluronate, seem to be gaining much consumer confidence. Furthermore, we find a successful manufacturer will also have an attractive return and refund policy and will be supported by real testimonials and results.
