Introduction & Overview |
Most people are familiar with Chanel, a company well known for their perfumes, cosmetics, eyewear, jewelry and clothing. While many people may see the company as a leading designer in the fashion industry, they may not realize the abundance of skin care products also created by the company.
Chanel has a variety of makeup available to women, and they also manufacture skin care products under several different categories and product lines. We will take a closer look at this company and the products they manufacture to see whether or not they may be a good choice for women seeking an effective skin care product, particularly one to combat the signs of aging.

 | Products at a Glance |
Chanel has two skin care product lines, and we notice that the Precision line has a number of anti-aging products, in addition to cleansers, toners, eye and lip care and masks. Since these products have become popular, and the market is becoming more competitive, we are curious about the products created by this designer label intended to combat the signs of aging.
On the website, the anti-aging products are listed under the heading, “time- fighters”, and the types of products include line correction/smoothing formulas, formulas designed for the “first signs of aging” and anti-wrinkle/firming products. We decided to look more closely at the anti-wrinkle/firming products.

 | Products in Focus |
The product that stands out to us is the Ultra Correction Restructuring Anti-Wrinkle Firming Lotion. This product is advertised as being lightweight and “advanced”, since it is formulated with an ingredient called Adhesioderm to firm and resculpt the skin.
We are disappointed that no further product details are given; we generally like to see what ingredients are contained in the product’s formula to better determine how effective it may be. For some reason, this information is not disclosed on the website at this time.
A 1.7 ounce bottle of the Ultra Correction Restructuring Anti-Wrinkle Firming Lotion costs about $92, and it may be purchased online. The company suggests pairing this product with the Ultra Correction Serum and a firming night cream.

 | Website |
We could not help but notice that the Chanel website is elegantly designed; all pages and products are presented in simple black and white, with colorful photographs of models in the appropriate sections. Banners running across the top and bottom of the pages make it easy to navigate, and include such topics as recent news, gifts and new products. All categories are listed as well.
As informative as it is, however, we do not see a section devoted to product research, nor do we see any testimonials for the products to indicate that using them may truly reduce the signs of aging. We would expect to see these types of facts posted on the website of such a large company.
|
 | Positives |
• Products may be purchased online
• Many different products are available to choose from
|
 | Negatives |
• Products are relatively expensive
• No testimonials are posted on the website as of review
• Ingredients are not listed at time of review
• Company’s return policy not posted at time

 | Final Thoughts |
Use of a product like the Ultra Correction Restructuring Anti-Wrinkle Firming Lotion from Chanel – or any of the other products in the Precision Ultra Collection – may be appealing to women seeking an anti-aging product from a well-known brand. While the product could be beneficial, we, unfortunately, do not see any proof of its effectiveness.
Of course, women have many options. There are popular ingredients on the market that have been clinically shown to reduce wrinkles and repair deep tissue damage. Ingredients such as Argireline® and Matrixyl 3000® have both undergone clinical trials with great success; those looking for a proven formula may prefer to seek products containing both of these potent ingredients. Some products are available for a more affordable price than the designer brands, and we have also come across companies that offer money-back guarantees.
