Introduction & Overview |
CureDerma is a new anti-aging cream that has been herald as a “breakthrough in anti-wrinkle skin treatment” on many retailer’s websites. It was designed to assist people to “reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness around the eyes”. Many products make very similar claims, especially now that the Internet has made shopping easier than ever before and created a venue for both products that are effective anti-aging elements, and those that are seeking to cash in on the cyber bonanza. Let’s take a look at this product to see what it may deliver, and if it may be as unique as suggested.

 | Ingredients in Focus |
The truth is that Palmitoyl Pentapeptide 3, which is also known by the trade name - Matrixyl - is a rather effective anti-aging element. It is a fatty acid mixed with amino acids, which has been shown in clinical trials to reduce the depth, volume and density of wrinkles. In fact, in three "half-face" studies that used a total of about 45 participants, it was shown to create much better results than either Retinol- or Vitamin C-based products. In another study, it was shown to reduce wrinkle density by 33%, and wrinkle volume by 23%.
This product also contains Aloe Vera, which is often used by individuals to ease burns and wounds. However, at this time, there is no scientific evidence that suggests it may ease wrinkles or skin aging in any way; although it may promote burn and wound healing, because there is research that suggests that an isolated component of Aloe Vera, such as glycoprotein, may be effective in that arena. However, once again, this may not transfer into an ability to ease skin aging.

 | Lifestyle |
We are glad to see Matrixyl used in this product, but we find it is not used with the elements with which it works best, such as Argireline® and Hyaluronic Acid, each of which is a highly effective anti-aging element in its own right. For instance, Argireline® is actually a compilation of amino acids and has been shown to be effective in reducing the depth of facial wrinkles, especially those caused by contractions of facial muscles. In a recent study, Argireline® was shown to significantly reduce the depth of wrinkles, and some individuals compare it with BOTOX® because of its abilities; although it lacks its muscle paralysis effects.

 | Final Thoughts |
CureDerma contains Matrixyl, so it may well assist some women in addressing some of their anti-aging needs. However, it is not a stand-alone element, and it is most often used with other anti-aging agents to maximize its abilities. As noted above, it is often used with Argireline® to directly affect wrinkles that form around the eyes, but we also wish to note that Hyaluronic Acid may play a vital role in addressing wrinkles by easing dehydration.
Skin dehydration may accelerate the visible signs of aging, which often occurs because the body’s natural supply of Hyaluronic Acid has started to ebb. Fortunately, supplementation with Hyaluronic Acid in topical formulas has been shown to replenish this supply to promote renewed elasticity, smoothness and suppleness.
Shopping online has given women access to a wide variety of skin care products, and often they may buy products which are not available in stores. However, some developers make it difficult for people to return products purchased online. Luckily, there are some dependable developers who offer hassle-free returns, friendly customer care and easy online shopping tools.
