Desert Essence |
 |
Introduction & Overview |
Desert Essence is a line of skincare products that bills itself as “a leader in the health and beauty industry.” This company, which credits itself with having introduced Tea Tree Oil to the United States, also claims that its anti-aging product is “the first natural alternative to cosmetic injection treatments.”
One needs only to scour the Internet to quickly find countless companies and products that claim to have the “first” alternative to cosmetic injections. We cannot help but feel that this company’s self-aggrandizing claims may be ultimately groundless and unsubstantiated. We had hoped to find a list of ingredients for these “groundbreaking” products, so that we may find some basis in reality. However, at the time of review, this company’s Website does not appear to list the ingredients of its products. We will assess this company for its “trailblazing” claims, and the apparent quality of its products.

 | Products at a Glance |
Desert Essence markets a wide variety of “natural personal care” products, such as baby care, hair care, skincare, oral care, Tea Tree Oil, body care and more. The skincare segment of this product line features face washes, scrubs, moisturizers, cleansing pads with Tea Tree Oil and an Age-Reversal® collection. A spa series of fragrant body washes is available, and a line of natural deodorants are also available. The company has also launched a new collection, called the Desert Essence Organics line. These products are purported to be “100% Vegan and are wheat and gluten free.”

 | Products in Focus |
The primary focus of this review will be this company’s Age-Reversal® Instant Lift and Firm serum. This product is said to be “The first and only natural INSTANT wrinkle smoother with LIFT-FTR™ technology to temporarily smooth away the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
Again, we cannot help but be skeptical of this company’s relentless claims of being the “first” at everything, not to mention the assertion of “instant” alleviation of wrinkles. We also feel compelled to point out the operative word “temporarily” that is used to describe this product. We feel that most people would prefer a product that has more lasting results. We have heard about more long-term results achieved through ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and Matrixyl 3000®. These ingredients have been clinically proven to restore moisture and resilience to skin for more lasting results.

 | Website |
This product’s Website, in our opinion, could have been more informative. At the time of review, this site does not seem to list the ingredients of most of its products, which we consider important. In addition, it seems that individuals are not able to actually purchase these products from the company’s Website. Instead, they are redirected to other online vendors. Unfortunately, this means that an individual is subject to the whims of these individual retailers. We also are disappointed to find no clear information about a return policy. This of course, is because the product appears to only be available from other sources, which presumably have their own return policies. Finally, we would have greatly preferred to see some sort of consumer testimonials on this company’s Website.
|
 | Positives |
• Is said to have introduced Tea Tree Oil to U.S.
• Claims to be the first cosmetic injection alternative
• Is said to be the first “instant” wrinkle smoother
|
 | Negatives |
• Company seems to boast frequently of being “the first,” with no proof
• Ingredients do not appear to be listed for these products
• Products cannot be purchased on the company’s Website at this time
• Claims of “instant” wrinkle reduction seem exaggerated

 | Final Thoughts |
This company strikes us as one that greatly enjoys boasting of the groundbreaking precedent it has set. Yet, as of review, we encounter no solid evidence that this is the case, and ultimately feel that this inflated sense of importance seems untrustworthy.
We prefer companies with Websites that are fully informative, and which actually sell the company’s products. We also tend to have more regard for companies that tone down the “blowhard” boasting, and instead post testimonials from satisfied individuals. We also think it is in a person’s best interest when a manufacturer directly offers a clear-cut money-back guarantee, instead of relying on the policies of individual retailers.
