Laboratoire Dr. Renaud Inc. is the Canadian based company behind Dr Renaud’s product line, which is rather extensive, and covers a wide range of skin care topics. Dr. Louis Renaud is the driving force behind this product line. He first started developing products in 1947. Since that time, his company has sought to deliver a totally natural model in skincare treatment and make-up. They claim their formularies only contain basic plant and marine extracts. They have developed a product line that includes formulas intended to rebalance, lift, nourish, detox and firm the face and body.

Dr. Renaud’s product line includes products such as: AK-SOL Intensive Care Concentrate, Cleansing Foaming Gel, Antipollution Cleansing Mousse, Dermazulene Cream, Sensicalm Cream, Perfect Skin Serum, Sun Stop Cream, Intervention Fluid Base, Eye Contour Cream and Biocolladerm.

We only touched on a few of their products, because their line is extremely large, but we have noted that their anti-aging products have become very popular. So let’s take a look at Biocolladerm, which is one of the premier products in this line. In fact, Biocolladerm was created by Dr. Renaud to “tone and revitalize dehydrated, tired, devitalized, or aging skin”. It is a concentrate which is touted as being a “true youth cure”. We find it rather interesting that this developer uses only three elements in its formulary - Bearberry Extract, Black Walnut and Native Acidosoluble Collagen.
We find Black Walnut has no real use in terms of anti-aging, and it has been traditionally used as an antiseptic, as well as a way to ease bruises, skin rashes and fungal infections. However, there is little doubt that Bearberry Extract is used in this formulary due to its purported ability to lighten the skin, which may ease the spots and discoloration associated with the aging process. However, most skin care products, such as this one, use very small amounts of this element, so we feel it is doubtful it will have a profound effect on the skin.
Native Acidosoluble Collagen is used in this product, and we are always glad to see Collagen replacement technology used in anti-aging products. However, there is very little information available regarding this type of Collagen, which we find troubling. In fact, it seems to be used only in Dr. Renaud products, and at this time they fail to adequately explain exactly what it is.
This is an important point, because there are many types of Collagen, but not all of them may be viable in terms of being able to boost skin health. For this reason, we always suggest people seek out products that contain Real Collagen, which has been shown to be highly effective in boosting the body’s Collagen production so that elastically may be restored, and the skin will continue to look young, soft and vibrant.

The actual Laboratoire Dr. Renaud website is under construction at this time, so we could not fully explore it, which is disappointing to us, and we are sure it is disappointing to individuals. However, it is said that when it is up and running, it will be available in both in English and French, which is great to see. However, it lacks a formulary glossary, a feature many of the more cutting-edge developers offer. This is exactly the kind of information many women like to review. Also, there were no testimonials posted the last time we visited this site, but we only hope that when it is running again, it will provide individuals with more relevant information.

In closing, we find the Dr. Renaud product line is rather extensive, and addresses a variety of issues. They also use some ingredients that may moisturize and hydrate the skin, as well as improve its overall quality. But we notice that in some of their products, such as Biocolladerm, the formulary does not use the most potent or advanced technology available.
As noted earlier, this product does not contain Real Collagen, which is one of the most effect ingredients in the war on wrinkles. It also does not use Matrixyl 3000®, which is one of the most cutting-edge formulas. Recent studies have shown that it reduced wrinkle density by 33%, while also decreasing the volume and depth of wrinkles. We always suggest women seek out products that use the most advanced technology available in order to guarantee that their needs are met.
