The founder of this product line is Ellen Lange, and she says that she is “obsessed with skincare”. Apparently, this obsession turned into a calling and the development of a full line of skin care products designed to address variety of issues. This is a family endeavor, so both Lange’s father and brother, who are plastic surgeons, are involved in the development of these products, which are advertised as being “high-tech, high-performance skincare products”.
Some women may already know her products, because some of them are at-home spa treatments that are sold on popular shopping shows, like the “Home Shopping Network”.

Ellen Lange has also developed a complete anti-aging line, no doubt due to rising consumer demand for these kinds of products. Macrothera PM Night Cream is said to be one of their most popular products, and it contains Cerimide III, Collagen, Elastin and Sodium Hyaluronate. Let’s take a look at Macrothera PM Night Cream in order to get a feel for her products.
Ellen Lang uses Cerimide III in this formulary, as a way to restore the lipid barrier. This is done by binding moisture in the skin's surface. However, they fail to provide consumer information about what this element actually is - which is troubling to us. Also, they indicate that they use Collagen in this product, which is great, but they fail to note what type of Collagen is used. This is important information, because not all Collagen is created alike, and, in fact, Real Collagen has been found to be the most effective in terms of assisting the body in rebuilding its Collagen levels.
This developer also uses Elastin in this product to minimize the appearance of “fine lines and wrinkles by plumping and soothing the skin”. However, here too they fail to provide information regarding this ingredient at this time. Our findings show that Argireline®, an amino acid complex, is far more effective in terms of alleviating wrinkles and facial lines. Argireline® has been shown to relax facial tension, which leads to a reduction in facial lines and wrinkles with regular use.
Our findings show that using Argireline® and Real Collagen could have taken this formula to a much higher level. However, we are glad to see that Ellen Lange includes Hyaluronic Acid in this product. It is a naturally occurring element found in the body and is responsible for maintaining skin and connective tissue. Supplementation with this element has been shown to be highly effective in combating wrinkles.

As noted above, this site is rather sketchy on product related information, which is troubling, especially trying to get a clear sense about how effective a particular product’s formulary may be. At this time, this site also lacks a glossary of ingredients, which we believe would have been exceedingly valuable, especially when it comes to elements such as Cerimide III. Frankly, we could not find any relevant information about this element on this site or elsewhere, which we always find concerning when it comes to skin care products.
That said, Ellen Lange’s website provide some online shopping features, as well as access to her products on the Home Shopping Network. She also offers a way to purchase gift certificates on her site. However, no samples or price breaks are offered on this site.

Ultimately, we find Ellen Lange is invested in providing good skin care products, and her products are very popular among many women. However, while reviewing some of the products on this site, we note that some of them fall short, and do not use the most advanced and effective technology available. This is especially true when it comes to her anti-aging line.
In the end, women who are interested in preventing or impeding facial lines, sagging or wrinkles may prefer to seek out products that use elements, such as Hyaluronic Acid, Real Collagen and Argireline®, because they represent some of the most advanced technology currently available on this market.
