Klein-Becker |
 |
Introduction & Overview |
Klein-Becker is a supplement company, which has created many nutritional supplements, as well as a few skin care products and cosmetics. For the most part their supplements are geared toward assisting those engaged in body building and weight loss. For instance, some consumers may know their weight loss product – Relacore.
However, they have branched out into the anti-aging market, with the development of their Strivectin line, which includes Strivectin-SD that has been extensively advertised on TV and online, as well as in print media. This product line was initially created to address stretch marks, but it is also now used to help those seeking to address anti-aging issues such as wrinkles, sagging facial lines, skin discoloration and lowered levels of collagen synthesis.

 | Products in Focus |
In general, Klein-Becker’s product line Strivectin was originally intended as a product for eliminating stretch marks; although the studies they used to sell this product were only conducted by Klein-Becker, and were not confirmed by any outside source. Klein–Becker then started to market this product as an anti-wrinkle agent, and it was advertised as being the "anti-wrinkle breakthrough of the decade."
Strivectin was sold as containing elements that “significantly reduce that category of fine lines and facial wrinkles that can add 10-15 years to your appearance” as well as reduce dark circles under your eyes. However, while these claims are rich in hyperbole they are poor in proof, which is troubling. First off this product does not contain a sun block, which is imperative when it comes to anti-aging products, because sun damage has been shown to increase both skin wrinkling and facial lines, and not to mention increase instances of skin cancer.
There is one element that developer points to prove it is effective - palmitoyl pentapeptide-3; although they call it Pal-KTTKS. It is purported to be able increase collagen synthesis and hyaluronic acid production in the skin. In many ways it is admirable that this developer seeks to stimulate collagen and hyaluronic acid production in the body, because they each play an important role in keeping the skin young, blemish free and supple; but frankly, research does not support the use of palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 for this affect.
However, there is one way we know of to help the body replenish both of these elements – using Real Collagen and hyaluronic acid topically. In fact, formulas that contain each of these elements have been shown to be able to keep skin smooth, soft and elastic, while also combating the formation of wrinkles.

 | Website |
The Klein-Becker website for their skin care line is rather lush in presentation, giving each product its own page, and briefly outlining the abilities of each. However, they failed to make full disclosure about their products formulary; although this information is available piecemeal through other online sources, but accessing it is not easy. We always find this lack of disclosure to be troubling, and in many cases it is a red flag for us regarding products viability.
Also this site does not offer one of the modern conveniences many consumers really like – automatic shipping. This feature has become so popular because many consumers don’t want to have to worry about running out of a product that is working for them. With automatic shipping it arrives at their doorstep every month without fail, giving them a break from having to go pick it up and often times at a discount.
|
 | Positives |
• Website posts each product on a separate page
• Orders can be placed by phone or online
|
 | Negatives |
• Does not use Real Collagen and hyaluronic acid in their products
• Formula lacks some of the more potent anti-aging agents

 | Final Thoughts |
In the end our findings suggest that Klein-Becker’s StriVectin product line does not bring anything new or ground breaking to the anti-aging market. In many ways these products are highly moisturizing, and contain some really good emollients, water-binding agents, antioxidants, and peptides. However, this does not mean that this line can address skin health or the aging process at its source.
Consumers who are interested in quickly and directly affecting wrinkles, skin blemishes and facial lines, may want to seek out products that really do used advanced technology, which includes elements such as Real Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid-both of which have been proven to be highly effective.
