Merle Norman® Skin Care |
 |
Introduction & Overview |
Merle Norman® Skin Care is a line of female-oriented skincare products that includes creams, lotions, gels and cleansers for women with various needs. Some of the product’s categories include Moisturizers, Sensitive Skin, Bath & Body and Sun Products. The company also offers products for men, but it claims to specialize in skincare formulas for women.
Some women may flock to cosmetics brands that offer variety and those that implement flashy marketing displays, but in many cases, these seemingly glamorous products may lack substance. A closer look at the ingredients in the products’ formulas may confirm this. We will examine the company’s products to see if women may benefit from using any of them.

 | Products at a Glance |
The complete list of categories in the company’s product lineup at time of review includes: Cleansers, Toners, Moisturizers, Eye Moisturizers, Problem Skin, Sensitive Skin, Treatments, Special Care, Eye & Lip Care, Bath & Body, Sun Products, MN for Men, Fragrances and MN Classics. Each category may contain at least a handful of products.
In the Treatments category, women may browse products in a line of skincare formulas called LUXIVA®. These include: Brilliant-C, advertised as capable of improving skin clarity and bringing back a youthful glow; Fine Line Minimizer, a topical solution based on vitamins and other nutrients; and Energizing Concentrate, advertised as a preventative anti-aging formula.

 | Products in Focus |
Brilliant-C is advertised as containing ingredients like Vitamin C, Peptides, an “Exclusive Bright + Complex™” blend and other naturally occurring components. The company contends that the formula may “luminize skin” and “leave a silky, smooth, healthy look.” Unfortunately, a complete list of ingredients is not disclosed on the website at time of review.
Another product in the above category is the Changing Skin Treatment, which is marketed as a formula that may address dryness, sensitivity and “loss of resiliency.” The manufacturer indicates that the formula may consist of ingredients like Soy, Clover and Wild Yam. We are disappointed that premium ingredients, like Collagen or Argireline®, have not been included.
|
 | Lifestyle |
Along with Collagen and Argireline®, Matrixyl 3000® and Collagen create a special formula that may be found in only a select few skincare products at the upper end of the industry. This formulation has been clinically tested to show that it may reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines, crow’s feet and sagging skin, while also having a moisturizing effect.
We believe a high-quality skincare product may be important for women who would like to lead a healthy lifestyle, considering some of the mainstream, inferior topical solutions may be ineffective – and cause adverse reactions. A complete list of ingredients for this company’s products is not disclosed at time of review.
|
 | Positives |
• The company’s products are separated into multiple categories
• The products may be purchased on-site at the company’s “studios”
|
 | Negatives |
• The products may not be available for purchase at major websites
• None of the formulas may contain both Collagen and Argireline®
• A testimonials page is missing from the website at time of review
• A money-back guarantee may not be available online at this time
|
 | Final Thoughts |
Merle Norman® Skin Care may be marketed as a glamorous line of beauty products, but we believe there may be more worthwhile anti-aging creams on the market. None of the aforementioned products seem to be backed by clinical studies, which may make it difficult to guarantee that they may be effective. We find studies enable developers to see the product in action, so to speak.
We are also disappointed that the company’s official website does not publish a consumer testimonials page at time of review. We find that many women have come to expect the higher-end skincare product manufacturers to supply this valuable resource, which enables women to share what their individual experiences with the product may have been like.
