Introduction & Overview |
Nexiderm-SP™ is a wrinkle reduction product manufactured by Boehm-Ritter®, a “cosmaceutical” company that apparently markets “a wide array of the highest quality health and beauty products.” Nexiderm-SP™ is said to feature “a European anti-aging compound clinically shown to decrease wrinkle volume and density, increase skin firmness and thickness, and increase collagen.”
It seems to us that this company’s main product, while featuring one excellent ingredient, seems to lack in other advanced anti-aging components. In addition, we have unfortunately encountered various complaints involving this company posted on consumer advocacy sites. We will assess this company, and its flagship product, for their ability to benefit skin and reverse aging.

Although Boehm-Ritter® seems to boast a “wide array” of top-notch “cosmaceuticals,” our investigation of their Website seems to indicate only one product. The Nexiderm-SP™ product appears to be the only skincare product that the company is marketing on its Website at the time of review. We were rather confused by this unprofessional discrepancy in this company’s advertising. We feel that consumers who may be expecting a wide selection of products will quite likely to be disappointed.

Since this company seems to market only one product, we will focus our review exclusively on that product, Nexiderm-SP™. This product is said to feature the main ingredient Matrixyl, which is said to “effectively incite synthesis of connective tissue molecules (such as collagen and glycosaminoglycanes) on a cellular level.” While we agree that Matrixyl is an impressive ingredient, we are aware of several products that include not only this component, but other excellent ingredients. Some anti-aging products contain not only Matrixyl, but also fresh, authentic Collagen itself.
By including Collagen-generating ingredients and actual Collagen, these products have a much greater chance of replenishing the skin’s natural Collagen. In addition, we were disappointed to see an apparent lack of the proven ingredient Hyaluronic Acid in this product. Hyaluronic Acid is known for its ability to capture and retain youthful moisture in the skin.

The Website for this company seems rather sparse, and, as previously stated, contains some inconsistent and contradictory information. We were also quite discouraged to see no consumer testimonials on this product’s Website. We consider testimonials to be a valid means of verifying product quality. Unfortunately, we did locate some consumer feedback on this product, but it was quite uncomplimentary.
One consumer reports, “I kept using it, thinking I would go ahead and give it time to work, but then started breaking out in bumps all over my face. It was horrible.” This same consumer went on to recount their subsequently unpleasant customer service experience: “ I immediately called the company only to be put on hold for ever, then after so long a voice came on saying to call back at non peak hours between 3 and 5 pm M-F, then hung up on me.”

It is our opinion that this company, and its apparent single product, may be of questionable reputability. We believe that shoppers can easily find skincare products that are backed by the enthusiasm of satisfied customers.
The ingredient Matrixyl is now a popular ingredient for its potent ability in reversing signs of aging. We feel that this ingredient is only enhanced by the inclusion of fresh natural Collagen.
