Peter Thomas Roth |
 |
Introduction & Overview |
It’s hard to find someone who has not experienced some kind of issue with their skin over the course of their lifetime. Peter Thomas Roth used his own issues with acne to create a skin care line that incorporates a wide array of products. They have created products that are suitable for a wide range of skin types, as well as address a variety of issues. His products include tonics, scrubs and cleaners, as well as corrective and therapeutic products.
However, perhaps it is the Peter Thomas Roth’s UnWrinkle formula that has garnered the majority of attention. Aging is an issue we all must face at some point, and frankly, facial skin is where it first shows up. This product is purported to lessen the frequency of wrinkles, diminish the appearance of fine lines and ease the appearance of deeper, more defined wrinkles. Let’s take a look at the formula used in UnWrinkle to see what it may do to boost skin health.

 | Ingredients in Focus |
The Peter Thomas Roth UnWrinkle formula uses two ingredients that we know are extremely effective in terms of restoring skin health - Argireline® and Matrixyl 3000®. Our findings show that both these elements are used in the most results oriented formulas. However, they are usually used with Hyaluronic Acid, which is not used in this product.
Argireline® is actually a compilation of amino acids, which have been proven to be extremely effective in reducing the depth of facial wrinkles, which are caused by the contractions of facial muscles. It has been shown to be particularly effective around the eyes. In fact, in one recent study, Argireline® was shown to significantly reduce the depth of wrinkles.
Matrixyl 3000® has achieved great results, according to some studies in which its use resulted in decreased wrinkle density, wrinkle volume and wrinkle depth. In fact, it has also been used to augment actual Collagen production. Our findings show that when Matrixyl 3000® is combined with real Collagen, it may be an even more effective skin rejuvenator. However, real Collagen is not used in this product.

Also, after carefully reviewing this product’s website, we realized that this developer does not make use of one of the more effective skin enhancement agents currently available - Hyaluronic Acid, which has a proven ability to refresh and hydrate facial skin; while increasing smoothness, softening and elasticity, as well as decreasing facial wrinkles. It is regrettable that neither Hyaluronic Acid nor real Collagen is used in Peter Thomas Roth’s UnWrinkle formula, because we strongly believe they would have really enhanced its capabilities.
|
 | Positives |

• Made by a known developer

 | Final Thoughts |
In general, we believe that Peter Thomas Roth’s UnWrinkle is a rather moderate formula, which may well assist some people in enhancing their skin health, but we believe it will not take them to the level most people desire. While this product uses Argireline® and Matrixyl 3000®, two really effective skin rejuvenators, we find it only goes half the way, because this developer fails to include Hyaluronic Acid or Real Collagen in this formula.
Hyaluronic Acid has an unprecedented ability to increase smoothness, softness, and elasticity to combat facial wrinkles; while Real Collagen is an extreme skin revitalizer that has an unprecedented ability to replenish the skin from the inside out. Given the high cost of this product, we fail to understand why these elements were not included, when they are far superior to many of the other elements used in this serum. It is possible to find this combination of advanced ingredients in a product that is fairly priced.
