Review
Summary |
Ero/Gyn is a female sexual enhancement product that claims to be “designed especially to maximize a women's sexual pleasure by maximizing libido enhancement.” The product is said to strengthen libido, heighten arousal, and increase the intensity and frequency of orgasms. This product is formulated as a tablet product, and is intended to be taken twice daily.
While it appears that this formulation may contain some ingredients that are known to be effective in male sexual enhancement, we did not observe many targeted components for female enhancement. In addition, we are concerned that some of the ingredients in this formulation may actually decrease sex drive, and some may increase the risk of estrogen-specific cancers. We will evaluate this supplement product for its ability to provide powerful, directly-absorbed sexual enhancement to women.

 | Ingredients in Focus |
|
We consider several of these ingredients, such as Damiana Leaf, Muira Puama, Yohimbe, and Catuaba, to be superior sexual enhancement ingredients for men. However, these do not seem to be especially proven to benefit female arousal and sexual pleasure. We would have preferred to see ingredients that are specifically intended to benefit women, such as Menthol, Peppermint, Cocos Nucifera Oil and Butyrospermum Parkii.
We were also somewhat concerned by the inclusion of L-Arginine in this formulation, since L-Arginine is said to increase production of a hormone said to “kill” sex drive. The use of Kudzu Root Extract also struck us as questionable, since Kudzu is said to contain Isoflavones. Isoflavones, which were once reportedly considered protective against cancers, are now being called into question as a potential causative factor. One researcher states, “Since isoflavones exhibit estrogen-like activity, it is possible that they could augment the effects of the body’s own estrogen and promote the development of breast cancer.”

|
We believe that this product’s pill formulation is not necessarily the ideal means of addressing female sexual dysfunction. It is our opinion that the female body responds more quickly and completely to the direct application of a product to the clitoris. This direct application immediately gets to the source of female sexual arousal: the clitoris. This highly receptive area of the female external genitalia is abundant with nerve endings that may have been dormant. The application of an invigorating, blood-stirring agent to this area has been shown to reawaken arousal, lubrication, and subsequent orgasm. A pill formulation, on the other hand, generally must go through the digestive system, essentially delaying effects that can be felt immediately with a topical product. For this reason, we feel that the more direct route tends to be best for women.

 | Positives |
|
• Yohimbe is said to be excellent for male sexual enhancement
• Damiana is also considered a quality male performance ingredient
|
 | Negatives |
|
• Pill formulation may not provide maximum absorption for women
• L-Arginine may ultimately sabotage sex drive
• Soy Isoflavones have been linked to certain estrogen-dependent cancers
• Formulation does not contain many of the best female enhancement ingredients
|
 | Final Thoughts |
|
We feel that this product certainly uses several excellent ingredients for male sexual performance, in a delivery method that is beneficial to men. In the end, this confuses us, since this product purports to be specifically for women.
We believe instead that the topical application of targeted ingredients like Menthol, Peppermint, Cocos Nucifera Oil, and Butyrospermum Parkii may reap the most intense results. We encourage consumers to avoid products that contain parabens, which may be carcinogenic.
